Fethard Castle

In conjunction with the Heritage Officer of Wexford County Council, a Conservation Management Plan was completed for Fethard Castle. Based on this report funding was secured from the Dept of Heritage (National Monument Fund) to begin conservation works at Fethard Castle. Phase 1 of the work has been completed and the site was visited by Minister for Heritage, Malcolm Noonan n late 2021 who was extremely impressed with the Castle and Fethard on Sea in general. Further funding for the next phases will be sought as each round of National Monument Funding is released. It is hoped that once all work has been completed the Castle will be available for use by the community, at least on the ground floor.
