Creative Communities Art Project

In association with Calmast (which promotes STEM education) in Waterford Institute of Technology, we undertook a project which looked at non-recyclable waste in our communities. This included household, marine and building waste. We decided to make art with the waste to highlight the problem of discarded plastic, polyester clothingetc. Over a number of weeks members of the community came together to create both 2D art with children and a 3D sculpture of a life-size baby humpback whale. Once complete, the art was exhibited in Hook Lighthouse.
